What Stops You from Achieving Your Goals – Cliff Roperez

Achieving your goals is not an easy thing to do, it doesn’t happen overnight for anyone. It requires time and patience along with some other productive and healthy habits to reach your final destination. But achieving your goals and reaching success is not impossible, once you put your mind and will at work, everything is possible and made easier. A lot of people can tell you what you need to do in order to reach your goals, but what many cannot tell you is what is keeping you from reaching these goals in the first place. So before you take any other advice or tips, it is important to first understand what habits and thoughts you need to eliminate.

We all have this perfect picture in mind of what our success exactly looks like and sometimes we just expect too much with putting little to no effort in our work. This is the case for many people, we want everything out of life and we don’t want to move more than a pinky for it. And some people want to execute their plans so perfectly that if it is not going to go their way, they don’t want it to happen at all. This perfectionism holds many of us down from truly reaching our full potential and goals in life. When things don’t go the way they planned it, a perfectionist will sit back and cower, feeling disheartened. It is essential to understand that things will not always workout in our favor, we will always hope they do, that’s true. But they don’t and we need to be ready to find another way to achieve our goals and success. We need to change our perfectionist mindset, so it doesn’t hold us down or back from getting what we want.

The one thing that is stopping almost everyone in the world from doing what they want and achieving their goals, is fear. Fear is like a widespread disease, if you ask me honestly. When you think about achieving goals, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Let me guess, fear of failing? Why are we so afraid of failing? What even is success, if we don’t know what failure is? Failure and success go hand in hand. Failure helps us to learn from our mistakes and come back stronger than before. It helps us push further for success. Failure makes success taste so much sweeter and once you understand that, fear of failing will not be one of the things holding you down from achieving your goals.

Two more things that are stopping many people from working on achieving their goals are excuses and procrastination. The human mind, when procrastination, can come up with a million and one excuses. We keep telling ourselves that it is not the right time, a better time will come. We tell ourselves that we won’t be able to reach our goals, so there is no point in trying and wasting time. We give ourselves so many excuses, to put an end to this habit. We need to always remember that when there is a will, there is a way. No matter how hard things may seem, we will find a way through it and come out successful.
