We have all been spending our lives in the chase for success. But, have we ever stopped for a second to think as to what exactly do we mean by success? What is it that we need in order to think of ourselves as successful? Money, fame, power, education, love, relationships, there are a thousand meanings of success varying from the perceptions of person to person.
Only a few people get their chance to experience success after planning and working for it while the rest of the people are merely a part of someone else's plan towards success. On an individual level, all of us have our ideas of success. Some of us live and work for acquiring money, some for fame, some for success, and some people love for the relationships around them and they consider those happy relationships as their success.
While on our road to success, we sometimes get to experience disappointments and we might fail in achieving something but, it does not mean that we have to alter the path to our lives. Nathaniel Jacobson says in his book, That’s The Way I Say No (978-1656571663), that feeling depressed, or having to lead a mediocre life is all a part and parcel but they are all meant to make a person stronger and help them look at life in a positive way. Whenever in life a person feels stuck, they should know that it the time to evolve and change for the good and the better.
Learning to grow and evolve with life is the only thing that can guarantee your success in life and is the only thing that will ensure your quality of life to be what you want it to be. In order to make the best out of this short life, we need to learn to evolve and grow or else we will forever be left behind. Change and evolution do not come overnight. This is a journey that a person has to take daily with small efforts and baby steps to make sure that they want to go without having to stumble. But, on the other hand, this has to be a constant effort.
Success is not all the time exactly what we want it to be. Sometimes our definition of success does not line up with what success exactly is. Success from a philosophical perspective is us being able to contribute to the lives of people around us. The greater good is what defines success. We need to work towards the betterment of the people and towards the struggle of making this world a better place.
Sometimes people get so focused on the fact that they need to get success in life by earning money, getting a great job, having an amazing partner, loving family adorable kids, respect, fame, power, etc. but what we tend to forget is that success is not just about ourselves. We need to keep the people around us in this loop for success too. It does not mean that we completely neglect ourselves but a balance is all we need in order to succeed.
