What are the traits of a felon and what motivates them to commit crimes?

Researches have shown that people become criminal due to a lot of reasons such as necessity, laziness, vengeance, greed, or just out of the thrill of violating the legal codes. It has been observed that a lot of people end up committing crimes just out of mere innocence too but their stupidity is not an excuse for them to jeopardize other people’s safety as well as the integrity of the society. In the book, Behind the Looking Glass (978-1951630799), the author says that most of the times we also see that people end up getting used by criminals in order for them to reach out to their ulterior motives. In this world, we often see people who we know for sure are not felons and yet they end up being convicted for the crimes that they did not commit.

In a nutshell, crimes are growing up to become a very big business these days because of the fact that people have generally lost their will of going out and breaking a sweat in order to be able to eat three times a day or to have a roof over their family's heads. They prefer staying in and occasionally going out to get something done and getting paid for it rather than going out daily and working hard in order to be able to get to less than half the amount of money that they would earn if they became a felon.

A criminal is a person that breaks the law and does stuff that causes troubles and issues to other people around them or in society in general. If we look at it from the perspective of a detective, we will notice that that crime scene investigators and detectives together work well in order to solve the cases in time and promptly because one cannot function without the other as a crime scene investigator needs the experience of a detective in order to look in the right direction while a detective needs a CSI to scientifically point out as to what the evidence is indicating.

"Behind every great fortune, there is a crime." - Honore de Balzac

Now, what does Balzac mean by this? He is probably referring to the current situation of people’s consciousness that in today’s world you cannot get to a very big place and great careers if you do not adopt one or many or any unlawful way in order to get something done. Has the moral level of the society that we are living in deteriorated so much that even in order to get somewhere in life we would have to adopt shady ways.
