What are the pros and cons of being a detective?

The job of a police officer or a detective is to gather every fact and figure that is related to a particular case and to make sure that the culprit reaches his/her end and justice is served. They are also responsible for the analysis of the evidence and to conductvarious interviews with the witnesses and investigations with the suspects. On the outer side, this profession appears to be very fancy and people say that police officers and detectives or the officials of law enforcement agencies get to enjoy a lot of perksbut, we forget often that no job in this world is as easy as it might appear to be for you.

While on one hand, the detective is there to make sure that the justice is served and the criminals have been made to meet with their deserving ends, the rest of the criminal intellect is provided by the crime scene investigators. This duo is considered to be hit because they complement each other and make sure that none of the aspects of the case are left untouched and every shred of evidence is brought to light.

In the crime drama novel, The Enigma Man, we see that the crime scene investigator is responsible to make sure that every piece of evidence at the crime scene strays uncontaminated and to ensure the authenticity of each and every evidence piece so that there is no tempering. They are also responsible to mark out as to how spread-out the crime scene is and where the markings need to be laid in order for the records to show the area of the crime scene.

Being a detective, people get a lot of chances to grow and flourish because according the US Bureau so Labor Statistics, the demands for police officers are growing at the rate of 7% which is great while on the other, the demands for private and consultant detectivesare growing at a slightly better rate of 11%. There are plenty of choices when it comes to being a police officer because they can choose their own field of specialization and it can be anything from murders to narcotics, missing persons, accountability, etc.

It would be very necessary for us to understand though that all of these perks do not come at an easy price and the police officers, as well as the detectives, have to give up on a lot of things such as heir family time, their personal space, they risk their lives daily for us to be safe, etc. So, every job has its ups and downs, and no matter what field we are in or what our profession is it will never be fancy as long as you are working to earn your bread out of it.
