What are the characteristics that are a must to become a qualified detective?

It intrigues people a lot when they come across detectives and police officers and are very curious as to how they do what they do. There a lot of tips and tricks that we have been learning from these crime dramas over the past few centuries starting at Sherlock Holmes and probably coming up to the most recent ones. The mystery novel, The Enigma Man, also confirms that there is one thing that all follow and one rule that none of them ever overlooks and that is no suspect is out of suspicion and they need to be taken into investigation too. The detectives are often assumed to be nosey and inquisitive but, we can never judge them for that because it is a part of their jobs and they cannot help but poke their nose into everything in order to get important information out.

A detective has to master the art of communication and they have to know how to deal with each and every kind of person in words without jeopardizing the investigation. So, detectives and crime scene investigators are some of the most present-minded people because they have to be all eyes and ears everywhere they go. It becomes very difficult for a CSI or a detective when they have to deal with a lot of cases or suspects or a lot of other things related to a case and they are not present-minded.

Similarly, a crime scene investigator is responsible to make sure that every piece of evidence at the crime scene strays uncontaminated and to ensure the authenticity of each and every evidence piece so that there is no tempering. They are also responsible to mark out as to how spread-out the crime scene is and where the markings need to be laid in order for the records to show the area of the crime scene. They work day in and out in order for the detectives to get every single piece of evidence analyzed properly and to make sure that the useful information is extracted from every piece without skipping on or leaving out any detail.

Moreover, they are responsible for maintaining the quality of every piece of equipment in the labs so that none of the evidence goes by unanalyzed and every piece is identified and investigated on time and efficiently. The CSIs also prepare detailed reports on every case to be stored in police records for the database to be created so that it can be referred to in the future with similar or even different cases.

In a nutshell, detectives are geniuses when it comes to reading people and analyzing people’s behaviors. And they are masters when it comes to connecting dots because they have spent most of their lives reading people and trusting their gut instincts.
