What are the benefits of yoga and meditation on our body and minds?


Nowadays, people practice yoga as a part of their respective religions. But that is not right. Yoga is not a religion, it has been adopted by human beings throughout the globe to attain peace and maintain harmony. Yoga has been a part of society since ages, and it includes the meditation. A lot of religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Christianity, Islam or any other have different believes that yoga is a part of their religion. It is yoga through which these people of different religions have obtained spiritual experiences.

Science through its ages of research has proved that it is energy around which the whole universe revolves. Yoga is basically getting your energy united, when you practice yoga your energy gathers and in return it make you healthy and fit. As the modern science and technology has improved there are machines that can repair or maintain a product or thing which is damaged. Same is the case with yoga it repairs our body mind and soul and brings peace in our life.

As the fact is well known that science is the thing which can be explained and proved trough some particular guidelines. So consider yoga as a science or religion you have to follow those particular set of regulations and guidelines for the desired results. The particulars of yoga which are meditation, focusing, proper intervals of breathing, relaxation, thinking, change of postures cannot be ignored whether you take yoga as science or part of your religion. Just as Vibha Sharma in her book, Turn Within, says that yoga involves a lot of breathing exercises, poses and medication tactics that help a person to relax and reduce their stress.

Yoga can boost the immune system of a person. Researches have somehow proved that yoga helps with the immune system of a person by lowering stress hormones due to which immunity is increased on a genetic level. Having a problem with overeating? Yoga is the solution. Yoga usually reduces human cravings of food which results in the decrease of the habit of overeating. Research has proven that yoga makes people aware of their physical and emotional health.

Yoga is known and used for medical purposes. Practicing yoga cannot bring you religious preaching’s, but it will help you to understand your body and body needs better as well as helps you control your actions and emotions. Yoga also helps with asthma and other sorts of ailments. Through many researches it has been proved that yoga can help patients with cholesterol and reduces the risk of heart attack. Health and psychology experts all around the world claim that yoga is hands down the most beneficial physical exercise for both the physical and mental health of a person and these claims are conveniently backed up by science and research as well.
