The Unique Ways of Using Technology to Improve Classroom Learning

Finding creative ways to use technology for learning can not only make your teacher's life more comfortable but also increase students' enthusiasm and participation in education. From helping teacher-student (and peer-to-peer) communication to organizing the curriculum calendar, and improving media and visual effects presentations and courses, there are no limits to howwe can use technology to create a rich learning environment. Besides,David Williams Mitchellwrites in his book "Who Stole the Internet,"the Internet has made our lives comparatively much easier and manageable.

This article highlights the unique ways of using technology to improve classroom learning.

1) Learning Through Games

The typing skills of students can significantly improve by playing typing games in the elementary school's computer lab. Online games are not only unique, but also highly engaging programs that teach students typing skills, and make using computer fun and exciting, and lay the foundation for all computer knowledge.Learning should be a fun process, and using technology for gamified learning in the classroom can be beneficial to achieve this goal.

2) Digital Field Trips

For teachers, an increasingly popular, useful, and cost-effective tool for finding a new way to use technology in the classroom is to conduct a digital field trip. Google Street View and other similar applications allow you to explore parks, forests, and even national and international landmarks in a comfortable classroom. It can be perfect yet the easiest way of improving the learning process at the school.

3) Learning Through Social Media

As students have already spend a lot of time on social media, one of the most innovative ways to use technology for learning is by connecting students to social media applications. If you are a teacher, then you can create a Facebook group specifically for your class, where you can post discussion topics or develop unique class Twitter tags that students can use to discuss courses or ask questions!

4) Make Digital Content

Creating digital content related to what they learn is an excellent way for students to showcase their creative talents and demonstrate learning. As with any other project, content creation is most effective when students can express themselves in a way that highlights and adapts to their strengths and learning/communication style.Give students options to express themselves through blogs, videos, podcasts, e-books, brochures, and other digital art, or whatever way they feel most comfortable.

5) Multimedia Presentations

Bring students to life by integrating visual effects, photographs, videos, and music into the presentation. Develop digital slides and presentations to improve the learning process. Besides, you can also play music or videos as background during presentations, or invite virtual speakers to interact with your class through programs designed for conference calls.A good example is using Skype, Google Hangouts, and Facetime);they are all fascinating and increase the attractiveness of the course in an innovative way while learning the benefits of technology and multimedia use.

Integrating technology into the classroom can enable more (more effective) communication between students and teachers, as well as between students and peers, and parents and teachers, all of which are critical to students' academic success.

Using technology in the classroom can also create a space for students to express their opinions while studying. By giving course feedback, participating in learning projects and activities that respect their individuality, and the opportunity and support to learn and understand the use of technology creatively, effectively, and safely, students cangreatly improve their learning process.
