Almost everyone in the world know who The Beatles, no matter where you go or who you ask, from the old generation to the young one. The Beatles were one of the first boy bands in the world to reach an extreme height of success and popularity around the world. The band originated from Liverpool, England, consisting of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. Paul McCartney and John Lenon were the co-lead vocalists, George Harrison was the lead guitarist, and Ringo Starr was the lead drummer. They banded together in 1960, but they had no idea where their music careers would lead. They never hand a single genre that they stuck to, The Beatles always wanted to make the type of music they would listen to themselves.

Despite, having very minimal musical training, they managed to successfully experiment with different genres and musical instruments. They were extremely talented and made a huge impact on music and the music world together. Boy band were never this popular before like they are these days, thanks to The Beatles, who rose to success and fame like fireworks on Fourth of July, back in the 80s. They paved the road for all the boy bands that emerged after them. Their haircuts, popularly known as the mop-top, since the top length of the hair looked just like a mop, was brought in fashion by the band. People all around the world the globe were getting the same mop-top haircut. Wigs were made that had the same haircut as The Beatles’ members and were called the “Beatle wig”. The boys’ fashion style was widely popularized, they mostly wore all black or all grey, Edwardian suits that had no collars. During the “hippie” era, The Beatles brought colorful clothing in style, with printed floral trousers and shirts. Whatever they wore became the trending style and fashion all around the world.

The cultural phenomenon that took place in the mid-60s in America was known as the British Invasion. During the British Invasion, bands and artists from the United Kingdom became extremely popular, especially those who made rock ‘n’ roll music. Musician and author, Jeff Heller, writes about the first time he saw The Beatles perform on television in America, in his autobiography, Life’s Mirror 978-1-951630-01-0. As a young boy, Heller describes that moment as a turning point in his life. How that performance by The Beatles, harvested the seed of dreaming to become a musician in him. The Beatles changed his life around and truly inspired him.

The Beatles popularity kept growing around the world because they always experimented with different genres and instruments that they collected from the different parts of the world from their travels. They listened to pop, rock, jazz, blues, classical, folk and Indian music. The band members then mashed up different genres to create unique sounds and music.
